Maria V.
Laredo, Texas

I thought I had problems with my vision; I couldn’t see well, I couldn’t read, I couldn’t sew. I had tried using all different types of eyeglasses; bifocals, progressives, anything and everything that anyone suggested. I finally got diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes. The cataracts prevented me from seeing well but I had to wait until they were of a size worth operating.  The doctors had told me that I had to have them removed AND possibly have the RESTOR lens implanted.

My daughter is in the business of marketing and she promotes top quality surgeons in Costa Rica. She provided me with enough information for my interest to peak and I thus began my own research regarding medical tourism. I had already visited ophthalmologists in the States, but after doing my research with the tools online I placed my trust in Dr. Cabezas.  I emailed him often and even spoke to him on the telephone twice.  He responded to all of my questions in a manner that was easy to understand and I then made my appointment to see him.
My first surgery was in February 2008. I had the cataract in one eye removed and a RESTOR lens implanted.  Dr. Cabezas told me I had to return within a month for the second procedure but unfortunately I did not return until June 2008. During this time I had problems focusing.  I was extremely scared and was skeptical of having the second surgery.  I spoke to Dr. Cabezas several times and he assured me that it was part of the healing process and that I had to have the second surgery ASAP. Thank God I agreed to the second surgery.  Within 48 hours after the second surgery I was able to focus.  I had the all of the follow up eye exams and the result was 20/20 vision! Dr. Cabezas, I thank you for restoring my vision and giving me the confidence to believe in this surgery
